9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Volunteer for Westchester County’s 9/11 Day of Service

Registration for Westchester County’s 9/11: Serve + Remember project is now open. Early registration is strongly suggested. The projects will take place on Friday, September 11, 2015, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the Westchester County Center in honor of those killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Register online at www.volunteernewyork.org/service for volunteer opportunities from Friday, September 11, 2015 through Sunday, September 13, 2015 in Westchester and Rockland Counties. Many of the volunteer opportunities are family-friendly and all of them offer meaningful ways to support local nonprofits and causes. Service projects taking place at the County Center on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm

  • Write thank-you cards for veterans and first responders with Volunteer New York
  • Make sleeping bags for adults in need with Lifting Up Westchester
  • Pack swab kits for blood drive with New York Blood Center
  • Create no-sew fleece blankets with Project Linus
  • Join the Bone Marrow Registry with Volunteer New York
  • Make paracord bracelets for the troops with Operation Gratitude
  • Create educational games for children with Volunteer New York
  • Receive hands-only CPR training with the American Heart Association
  • Donate blood (9:00am to 4:00pm) with New York Blood Center
  • Give to the Early Learners book drive with Open Door Family Medical Center
  • Contribute to the food drive with Hillside Food Outreach
  • Sign up for Westchester County emergency preparedness exercise with Westchester County Department of Health
