9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Tribute in Light – New York, NY

The Tribute in Light, the beloved September 11th memorial that glows in the New York City sky every year on the anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 returns, and will be lit from 6:00pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016 until sunrise on the morning of Monday, September 12, 2016.
The two enormous beams of blue light reach the sky and extend 4 miles upward to remember those murdered in the attacks. The Tribute in Light can be seen from as far as 60 miles away.
This year their base is located south of the 9/11 Memorial site at 200 Liberty Street.Periodically throughout the night, if needed, the lights dim to allow birds mesmerized by them to escape.
Watch for the “rehearsal” on the 9th and 10th.
The National September 11th Memorial will open to the public from 3:00pm to midnight on Sunday, September 11, 2016 for viewing the lights — though they can be seen from nearly anywhere in the area.
