9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Tri-State 9/11 Tribute – Lamar, AR
September 11, 2014 - September 13, 2014
The Tri-State 9/11 Tribute will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014 – Sunday, September 13, 2014. The Tri-State 9/11 Tribute was established to honor first responders and armed forces, past and present.
Events begin Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 7:30am with a Flag Raising Ceremony at the City Library.
Tom Tudor will present Arlington Cemetery and Tomb of Unknown Soldier at 7:00pm in the Cultural Events Center.
Bands playing patriotic music will be featured at the Enchanted Forest Friday, September 12, 2014 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
On Saturday, September 13, 2014 the 9/11 Tribute Parade will start at 10:00am on Beech Street. The parade will march south on 6th Street to Cedar Street., west to 9th Street, then south on 9th Street ending at the Fairgrounds. From 10:30am, family activities will be held at the Fairgrounds.
There will be a barbecue (free to all firefighters, police officers and EMS workers and military both past and present) The barbecue will be available to others for a small fee.
There will be a flag retirement ceremony held in the Fairgrounds Pavilion at 1:00pm. A 9/11 ceremony will be held at 2:00pm in the Fairgrounds arena.
A concert will be held in the Arena that evening.
