9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Shinnyo Lantern Floating for Peace

On Sunday, September 21, 2014 the “Shinnyo Lantern Floating for Peace” will take place at the Paul Milstein Reflecting Pool at Hearst Plaza, Lincoln Center. The event will begin at 1:00pm, performances will continue throughout the day, culminating in a special ceremony at 6:30pm.
This lantern floating event coincides this year with the International Day of Peace.
In addition to the lantern floating, there will be performances throughout the day by the New York City Ballet principal dancers Wendy Whelan and Craig Hall, choreographer Christopher Wheeldon; the jazz trumpeter Alphonso Horne; Shinnyo Taiko drummers and others.
