Old South Church’s Boston Marathon Interfaith Service of Resiliency
April 15, 2016 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Boston’s Old South Church, now often known as the Church of the Finish Line for its proximity to the site of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, will hold an interfaith Service of Resiliency on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 2:30pm. All are welcome.
Old South Church is about 100 feet from the Marathon’s finish line. Every year, clergy bless the runners as they begin and ring the church bells for the winners. Since the bombings, the church has ministered to survivors and those affected by the attack.
The service will pause at 2:49pm, when Old South Church member Tom Ralston, a survivor of the bombing, will ring the church’s bell to begin the statewide moment of silence at the moment the first bomb exploded.
This year’s Marathon will be run on Monday, April 18, 2016.
