9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The memorial service for Lt. William “Bill” Dement will take place on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 10:00am at the Sanctuary on the River in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
With the NYPD for years, Lt. Dement died of World Trade Center-related illness. He was 52.
Bill Dement wrote a book, Delay, Deny, Hope They Die: World Trade Center First Responders -The Battle for Health Care and Compensation, to draw attention to the plight of sick recovery workers.
