Native Staten Islander Joseph Michael Abate, of the Electrician’s Union, Local #3, 67, died in Myrtle Beach, SC on February 18, 2021 of World Trade Center-related lung cancer.
He was an electrician for the New York City Police Department for 37 years, retiring nearly five years ago.
As per Joseph’s wishes, a Celebration of Joseph’s life will be held privately with immediate family members only. The family respectfully asks, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center.
