John Jay Center on Terrorism Seminar – The Cost of QAnon

The Center on Terrorism at John Jay College will present The Cost of QAnon, in their Friday Seminar Series on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 3:00pm until 5:00pm EST via Zoom.
The speaker will be Jason Blazakis of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies.
The talk will address the impact of the QAnon phenomenon at the individual, government and civil society levels. In doing so, the talk will ask: what is the QAnon conspiracy theory and is it unique? The talk will examine key online trends associated with the QAnon movement, including the role of foreign influence.
The talk will draw upon a newly released report, Countering QAnon: Understanding the Role of Human Trafficking in the Disinformation-Extremist Nexus, coauthored by Mr. Blazakis.
