Funeral for retired PAPD Sergeant Joseph P. Carrigan

Retired PAPD ESU Sergeant Joseph P. Carrigan, 51, died on September 10, 2021. In addition to his career with the Port Authority Police, he served in the US Air Force.
He responded to the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 and survived both collapses and rescued many. He served throughout the recovery operation at the site. Sergeant Carrigan was assigned to the JFK Airport Emergency Services Unit and later to JFK’s Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Academy.
Sgt. Carrigan’s funeral Mass will be take place on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 9:45am at Saint Raymond’s RC Church in East Rockaway.
His committal service will follow at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale.
Donations in Joseph’s memory to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation would be appreciated by his family.
