Funeral for retired NYPD Detective Nicholas F. Ortiz

Retired NYPD Detective 1st Grade Nicholas F. Ortiz died of World Trade Center-related liver cancer on April 5, 2021.
He served the NYPD from 1968 until 2008, retiring out of the FBI-NYPD Joint Terrorist Task Force. He was a first responder with the NYPD assisting with the rescue and recovery operations at Ground Zero following the terrorist attacks at the former World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
His funeral Mass will be said at St. William the Abbot in Seaford at 9:30am on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.
Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
