9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Commissioning of USS Somerset

The Commissioning of the USS Somerset will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00am at 1 Penn’s Landing, Philadelphia.

There are no tickets available – 7,000 people are expected to attend the ceremony.
Among the speakers at the commissioning ceremony will be Gen. James F. Amos, Marine Corps Commandant, who is to give the keynote address; Captain Thomas L. Dearborn, who will be USS Somerset’s commanding officer and ship’s sponsor Mary Jo Myers, wife of Air Force General (ret.) Richard Myers, former chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff.
