Benefit for Citizens for the Extension of the James Zadroga Act – NYC
September 9, 2015 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
There will be a comedy benefit for Citizens for the Extension of the James Zadroga Act on 5:30pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at UFT headquarters in Lower Manhattan.
Comedian Colin Jost of Saturday Night Live will headline. Jost is the son of FDNY chief medical officer Kerry Kelly and knows the seriousness of the health issues plaguing recovery workers, survivors and residents. Other Saturday Night Live cast members and many members of the September 11th community are scheduled to attend.
The Zadroga Act, that helps those sick with World Trade Center-related illness, will run out of funds by next year without immediate action from Congress. Free medical care for all those sick from their work after the attacks would end and Victim Compensation Fund payments would be cut, possibly by as much as 60 percent.
Citizens for the Extension of the James Zadroga Act is attempting to persuade Congress to pass a bill renewing the Zadroga Act, making medical monitoring and free health care for 9/11 sick permanent.
Ticket prices begin at $250.00. To attend, or to learn more, please click here.
