This month at the Winter Garden in Lower Manhattan, artists from Iran, Japan, India and Korea will create a large-scale installation of calligraphic paintings on the theme of love from their native languages. Each artist will begin where the last one left off.
You may watch them work between 11:00am and 4:00pm on these dates:
Tuesday, April 17, 2018 and Wednesday April 18, 2018 – Iranian artist Mehdi Saeed;
Thursday, April 19, 2018 and Friday, April 20, 2018 – Japanese artist Masako Inkyo;
Tuesday, April 24, 2018 and Wednesday April 25, 2018 – Indian artist Rupy C. Tut;
Thursday, April 26, 2018 and Friday, April 27, 2018 – South Korean artist Rostarr.
The Winter Garden is beloved by the September 11th community. It was destroyed in the terrorist attacks and was the first landmark to be rebuilt after the attacks.
