9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund Nonviolent Communication Class – Urbana, OH

As part of their Season for Nonviolence, the Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund will offer a free six-week Nonviolent Communication class series from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on consecutive Mondays, from March 16, 2020 until April 20, 2020 in the Moore Conference Room in the Urbana University Student Center.
Nonviolent communication (NVC) is an approach to living that has roots in Martin Luther King, Jr. and Gandhi’s teachings on nonviolence. The concept refers not only to physical violence, but also to any other way we “attack” others or ourselves, such as through judgment, criticism, and blaming.
Classes are intended for community members, high school students, and Urbana University students. The instructor will be Diane Diller, an NVC trainer certified by the Global Center for Nonviolent Communication.

The Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund was founded to honor the memory of Alicia Titus, who was killed by terrorists during the attacks of 9/11 while serving as a flight attendant aboard United Airlines Flight 175, the plane that crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
The Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund carries on the spirit of Alicia’s life by sponsoring programs for the University and community that promote and support peace.
