9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. 9/11 Wreath-Laying Motorcade, Queens, NY

State. Sen. Tony Avella will host his annual motorcade at 9:30am on September 9, 2013 to honor Queens’ victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center. Local members of the military who were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan will also be honored.

Each year since the attacks, Avella has hosted the motorcade and wreath-layings. He is often accompanied by family members, colleagues and friends of Queens residents who were killed in the attacks of September 11, 2001.

This year, the motorcade participants will lay a wreath and pause for a moment of silence at 25 borough intersections named for 9/11 victims throughout  Queens.

The journey begins at 9:30am at the intersection of 130th Street and 25th Avenue in College Point. The motorcade will stop at Firefighter Michael J. Elferis Street, on the east side of 130th Street at 25th Avenue, as well as at Firefighter Michael Haub Road at 14th Road and 120th Street and Battalion Chief Lawrence T. Stack Street at 11th Avenue and 123rd Street.

The procession will proceed to Thomas J. Shubert Avenue at 11th Avenue and 127th Street. At 10:00am a wreath will be laid for Private First Class James E. Prevete, a lifelong Whitestone resident. He was killed in Iraq. His mother will lay the wreath at PFC James E. Prevete Avenue at 147th Place and 5th Avenue.

Then the motorcade will continue to Firefighter Michael Carlo Avenue at 149th Street and 8th Avenue, Thomas A. Casoria Way at 22nd Avenue and 150th Street, Firefighter Carl F. Asaro Way at Willets Point Boulevard and 147thStreet in Whitestone, Firefighter Timothy M. Welty Street at 32nd Avenue and 139th Street, William M. Feehan Triangle at 164th Street and the 27th Avenue Triangle, Michael D. Mullan FDNY Way at Jordan Street and 33rd Avenue, Captain James J. Corrigan Way on Francis Lewis Boulevard between 35th Avenue and 200th Street, Vincent F. Giammona Way at 42nd Avenue and 202nd Street, Firefighter Andrew Christopher Brunn Street at 211th Street and 41st Avenue, Glenn J. Travers, Sr. 9/11 Memorial Way at 28th Avenue and 211th Street and Christopher Racaniello 9/11 Memorial Way at Marathon Parkway and Thornhill Avenue.
