To honor those rescue and recovery workers who responded to the terrorist attacks on the Pentagon, Arlington County’s firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS workers and their supporters will hold the 9/11 Ride of Hope on Saturday, September 11, 2021 to ride their bikes to each of the nine Arlington fire stations that responded to the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon.
The ride will begin at 7:00am at Fire Station 6 near Falls Church. The ride will end at Fire Station 5 in Aurora Highlands, where a wreath-laying and a moment of silence will be held. After the ceremony, those who responded to the Pentagon attack will ride to the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial to lay a wreath there.
The ride will have a police escort and will proceed at a leisurely pace.
The Ride of Hope is open to all retired and active first responders. Other adults over the age of 18 may join, but the ride is limited to 200 people, so priority will be given to first responders.
If you would like to support the ride, please display flags along the route, or stand on the route with signs, or just cheer riders on.
