9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Funeral for retired FDNY Lt. Patrick J. Whalen, E-163/L-83

Retired FDNY Lieutenant Patrick J. Whalen, 62, died on August 22, 2021 of World Trade Center-related illness.
He joined the Fire Department of New York in 1981, and spent 20 years in service, retiring as a Lieutenant. He responded to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 with Engine 163/Ladder 83.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church in Holmdel, NJ on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Patrick’s memory to the Ray Pfeifer Foundation or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
