Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Wake for retired DSNY Officer Richard Brown III – Monroe, NC

Retired DSNY Officer Richard “Richie” Leon Brown III died on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in Waxhaw, NC. He was 53. He served New York City with the Department of Sanitation for 23 years, including his time at the World Trade Center site after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He moved to North Carolina upon his retirement.
His wake will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm and from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at the Davis Funeral Service Chapel in Monroe, NC.
His funeral Mass will be held at 10:45am on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Monroe, NC.
Interment at Lakeland Memorial Park will immediately follow the funeral Mass.
