9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Brooke Jackman Race for Literacy

The Brooke Jackman Foundation will host their 12th annual Brooke Jackman Race for Literacy on Saturday May 20, 2017 at the Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School in Oyster Bay.
Children’s activities – face painting, tattoos, yoga, and hula hoops – start at 8:45am. The ¼- mile Kids’ Fun Run for Future Olympians for children aged 8 and under begins at 9:00am. The 5-K Run/Walk will start at 9:30am in the Brooke Jackman Reading Garden.
The fee to run is $20.00 before May 13 for adults; $25.00 on race day. Students 18 and under pay $10.00. Children 8 and under play and run for free. Online registration closes on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 6:00pm EST. Onsite registration on race day is available from 7:45am to 9:15am. To register online, please click here. The Brooke Jackman Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on improving literacy among at-risk children in the New York area. It honors Brooke Alexandra Jackman, 23, who was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 while working in the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Brooke loved books and planned to leave her job to study social work in order to help children.
