9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Wake for Detective Ronald Richards, NYPD (ret.)

Detective Ronald Richards, who retired from the NYPD’s elite ESU and the Bomb Squad, died on October 10, 2015 of World Trade Center-related multiple myeloma. He was 45.
Detective Richards, a seventeen-year veteran of the NYPD was assigned to the Bomb Squad on September 11, 2001 and responded to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and worked for months on the recovery effort.
Married and the father of four daughters, Detective Richards retired due to his illness in 2007.
His wake will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm and from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Wednesday. October 14, 2015 at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals in Staten Island.
His funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 9:45am at St. Clare’s Church in Staten Island. His burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
