Deadline to enter September 11th essay contest for schoolchildren
July 28, 2014 @ 8:00 am - August 10, 2014 @ 5:00 pm
To mark the anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the city of Rancho Santa Margarita, California will hold an essay contest for schoolchildren.
Essays will be accepted from elementary, middle and high school students until Sunday, August 10, 2014. This year’s essay theme is “What Patriotism Means to Me.”
This is the second annual essay contest, which aims both to help students maintain their academic skills over the summer vacation and to teach them why it is important to remember the terrorist attacks.
Contest winners will receive a certificate from the Mayor and participate in the local commemoration ceremony by reading their essays on Sunday, September 7, 2014. Winning essays will be on display at the Bell Tower Regional Community Center.
To enter the contest, please visit the city’s website or call 949-216-9700.
