Lt. Joseph P. DiBernardo “Joey D.” Memorial Foundation Seminar
May 16, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - May 17, 2014 @ 5:00 pm
FDNY Lt. Joseph P. DiBernardo was passionate about improving his firefighting skills. He responded to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and spent 6 months working in the recovery effort.
In his memory, the second annual Lt. Joseph P. DiBernardo “Joey D.” Memorial Foundation Seminar for firefighters will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm and Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the Hyatt Regency Long Island in Hauppauge, NY.
Lt. DiBernardo was critically injured on January 26, 2005 in the Black Sunday fire, breaking most bones below the waist and shattering both feet. He died of his injuries in 2011. The Lt. Joseph P. DiBernardo Memorial Foundation hosts firefighters from around the US at training seminars run by some of the greatest experts in firefighting, including Chief Joseph DiBernardo, Joey’s dad, and FF Jeff Cool, who offered Joey his safety rope on Black Sunday and was injured with him.
The two-day seminar will cost $150.00, which includes Friday’s networking event & a full day of training with buffet lunch on Saturday and a souvenir t-shirt.
