Wake for Captain John Gallagher, FDNY

FDNY Captain John Gallagher has died after a long battle with World Trade Center-related pulmonary fibrosis. He was 70, and a 34-year FDNY veteran. Captain Gallagher responded to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center with two of his sons (1 FDNY, 1 NYPD) and worked the recovery effort.
Captain Gallagher served as a U.S. Army paratrooper. He also fought for the passage of the original Zadroga bill.
His wake will be held at the Claude R. Boyd/Caratozzolo Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm to 9:30pm.
Captain Gallagher’s funeral Mass will take place at on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at 11:15am at The Church of Saints Cyril & Methodius in Deer Park.
