Win free tickets to the first preview of Gander musical “Come from Away” at Ford’s Theatre
August 27, 2016 @ 8:00 am - September 1, 2016 @ 5:00 pm
After being acclaimed in Seattle and San Diego, Come from Away is coming to Washington, D.C. The new musical tells the true story of the kindness the residents of Gander, a small Canadian town, showed to the more than 6,500 airline passengers stranded there when planes were grounded after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
The unprecedented closing of U.S. airspace doubled Gander’s population over the course of a single morning. Thousands of passengers needed food, showers, beds, medication and comfort. Tiny Gander provided all these things and more. Friendships made in Gander continue to this day.
A small ensemble cast brings this touching story to life. Come from Away is coming to Broadway in the spring.
