War Stories and Free Beer
September 6, 2012 @ 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm
More than a decade after the terrorist attacks, still too little is known about what it means to serve in a time of war. War Stories and Free Beer encourages veterans to share their stories with those interested in learning more.
GORUCK founder and former Green Beret Jason McCarthy started War Stories and Free Beer in 2009 at Georgetown University, as a way to bridge the gap between classmates who had wartime experience and those without. This event highlights military service in an environment open to all, military and non-military alike. Beer takes pressure off the speaker, the listener and the atmosphere and makes everything better.
War Stories and Free Beer normally lasts about two hours. Each speaker has up to 15 minutes, followed by Q&A.
There is no age limit. All are welcome, including kids. Beer will only be served to those 21+.
War Stories and Free Beer is not profitable and speakers are not paid.
