Wake for World Trade Center survivor Court Officer Michael G. O’Malley

May 18, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

After a career on Wall Street, Michael G. O’Malley became a Court Officer for the New York State Supreme Court. He was on Centre Street in Lower Manhattan on the morning of September 11, 2001. He commandeered a bus to transport people away from danger, making multiple trips between Manhattan and Brooklyn.

In 2019, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, which was probably linked to his World Trade Center exposures.

He moved to assisted living earlier this year 2022 and died on May 15, 2022. Even in death, he is able to save two lives by donating his kidneys.

His wake will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Joseph P. Clavin & Sons Funeral Home in Brooklyn.

The funeral Mass will be said at Our Lady of Angels Church in Brooklyn at 9:30am on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Burial at St. Charles’ Cemetery in Farmingdale will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Michael’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project. To leave a message of condolence to his family, please click here.
