9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Wake for FDNY Firefighter William P. Moon II, Rescue 2

FDNY Firefighter William P. Moon II of Rescue 2 was critically injured during a training exercise and did not survive. He died on December 18, 2022. He was 47, and leaves a wife and two young children. He served the FDNY for 21 years.
His wake will be held at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home in East Islip on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and again from 7:00pm until 9:00pm with a firematic service with the Islip FD, where FF Moon volunteered, at 7:30pm.
FF Moon’s funeral Mass will be said at 11:00am on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church in Bay Shore, NY. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
