Virtual Red Bandanna 5-K
October 23, 2021 @ 8:00 am - November 4, 2021 @ 5:00 pm
Due to an abundance of caution amid COVID restrictions, this year’s Red Bandanna 5-K will be virtual for all registrants who are not currently a BC student, faculty, or staff member. Organizers understand that this will be disappointing for all who had hoped to be fully in-person again this year to honor Welles’ life and legacy.
The live race will be held at 9:00am on Saturday, October 23, 2021, but please consider running a virtual 5-K for Welles at any time between Saturday, October 23, 2021 and Thursday, November 4, 2021 to remember Welles together, apart.
If you are not a current BC student, faculty or staff member, and you registered on or before September 28, 2021 to race in-person, please check your email for important information.
Register here for the Red Bandanna 5-K.
Please use #BCredbandannarun and share your run/walk photos and videos.
Welles Remy Crowther, 24, was a broker at Sandler O’Neill in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. As “the man in the red bandanna” he saved several injured people from the South Tower’s Sky Lobby, and went back to save more when he was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The Welles Remy Crowther Charitable Trust helps deserving young people in a variety of ways, while encouraging them to be like Welles.
