Tyler Ugolyn Awards Presentation – Wilton, CT
January 31, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
As part of the 13th annual Tyler Ugolyn Basketball Tournament and Sneaker Drive, the annual Tyler Ugolyn Awards will be awarded at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Academy in Wilton, CT on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 7:00pm.
The Tyler Ugolyn Awards are awarded to a female and a male basketball player who display exemplary character and sportsmanship on the court and off. Tyler Ugolyn, 23, was a Fatima basketball player who was killed in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center while working at Fred Alger Management. Winners also embody the traits Tyler was known for, namely compassion, teamwork, love of basketball, and spirituality.
Details about the tournament can be found here or here.
A portion of tournament proceeds will be donated to the Tyler Ugolyn Foundation, which promotes youth basketball programs and refurbishes inner-city basketball courts across the country.
New and gently used sneakers will be collected during the tournament. Sneakers will be donated to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization, a charity Tyler used to volunteer with.
