Tunnel to Towers Foundation Tower Climb honoring Captain Billy Burke

June 4, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

On Sunday, June 4, 2017, the FF Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation will hold their third annual Tower Climb at 1 World Trade Center.

The event pays particular homage to FDNY Captain William Francis “Billy” Burke. On September 11, 2001, while responding to the attacks at the trade center, Captain Burke stayed behind to save others on the 27th floor of the north tower, while commanding other firefighters to get out of the building, knowing that the south tower had already collapsed. He was killed in the collapse of the north tower. Captain Burke’s selflessness is legendary among those in his profession.
