9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Tribute to the Crew of the USS Somerset – Somerset, PA

At 12:00pm on Monday, September 10, 2018, the Somerset County Commissioners will host a tribute to the crew of the USS Somerset, who will be in town to attend the Tower of Voices dedication ceremony and September 11th anniversary observance.
The USS Somerset is the third US Naval ship commemorating those killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Somerset is named for the County where United Flight 93 crashed when its passengers and crew fought back against the hijackers, killing the forty brave people aboard. The amphibious assault ship is currently homeported in San Diego.
The hour-long, public ceremony will be held in the Somerset County office building’s rotunda. Visitors are asked to enter via the Treasurer’s Office.
