Thomas I. Glasser Memorial Scholarship Fund Easter Egg Fundraiser – Summit, NJ
March 2, 2020 @ 8:00 am - April 11, 2020 @ 10:00 pm
The Thomas I. Glasser Memorial Scholarship Fund, Summit Police Department and Summit’s Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local #55 will hold an Easter egg benefit on the evening of Saturday, April 11, 2020, when Summit Police Department personnel will visit participating homes and decorate yards with candy- and toy-filled eggs.
Participants can purchase either two dozen, four dozen or six dozen eggs. Two dozen eggs cost $20.00; four dozen eggs cost $35.00; and six dozen eggs costs $50.00.
Please be advised that candy/toy-filled eggs are small and are not recommended for children under age three.
One of the distributed eggs will hold a ticket making the child who finds it a Police Officer for a Day. The winning child will receive a private tour of Summit Police Department headquarters, a goody bag with police ‘swag’, a police car demo and a swearing-in ceremony with the Chief of Police. (Please note – this means there will be one prize-winning egg distributed throughout the town; not a prize-winning egg per household.)
You can pay via check or online. If paying by check, use this form and send it, together with your check made out to the Thomas Glasser Scholarship Fund — to the Summit Police Department, 512 Springfield Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901.
In 2001, Tom Glasser, a successful broker at Sandler O’Neill & Partners, approached the Summit Police Department and asked how he could help officers and their families. When he was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the Thomas I. Glasser Memorial Scholarship Fund was formed. It assists children of active and retired Summit police officers, as well as Summit high school seniors who intend to pursue a college education in criminal justice or law enforcement.
