The Educated Patient: A free, virtual, liver cancer conference

October 15, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

On Friday, October 15, 2021 and Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 11:00am until 2:00pm (both days), the American Liver Foundation will present The Educated Patient: a Liver Cancer Conference, a free, two-day virtual education program created especially for liver cancer patients and their family members and caregivers. It offers presentations, workshops, and opportunities for engagement with leading medical experts, researchers, and others who are knowledgeable about issues relevant to those dealing with liver cancer.

The overarching goal is to help, support, and empower those facing the uncertainty that a diagnosis of liver cancer brings. By improving the health literacy of attendees, ALF will enable patients and their family members to feel more prepared taking an active and engaged role in the disease management process.

The conference will provide information and strategies for effective and meaningful approaches for coping with liver cancer; communicating with a medical team; understanding treatment options; navigating clinical trials; and dealing with social, emotional, and financial issues that may arise.
