9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Symposium — Promoting Resiliency in Communities Impacted by Trauma: Identification and Treatment of Long-Term Needs

Our friends at Voices of September 11th will present their annual Voices Center of Excellence for Community Resilience Symposium on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Rutgers University. This year’s title is Promoting Resiliency in Communities Impacted by Trauma: Identification and Treatment of Long-Term Needs.

Among the panels scheduled for the day will be Persisting Patterns and Emerging Trends in Physical and Mental Health 13 Years after 9/11. In this panel, Iris Udasin, M.D. will discuss physical and mental health issues in her patients from the World Trade Center rescue and recovery. She will discuss cancer and its implications for our community. Steven D. Stellman, Ph.D. MPH will discuss his work with the World Trade Center Health Registry. He will cover respiratory health, heart disease, GERD, cancer and PTSD.

The keynote speech title is Enhancing Your Resiliency through Experience.

Registration begins at 8:30am. The symposium will run from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Continental breakfast and lunch are included.

September 11th family members, recovery workers, survivors of the attacks and their families may attend the Symposium at no cost. Registration is required. To register online, please click here.
