9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The Town of Wappinger will conduct their annual September 11th Remembrance Ceremony on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 8:30am at the Sergeant Mark C. Palmateer 9/11 Memorial Park.
The Sgt. Mark C. Palmateer 9/11 Memorial Park serves as a memorial for Sgt. Mark C. Palmateer, the first Dutchess County soldier killed in the line of duty after September 11, 2001, and all the service members and first responders who have been killed in the line of duty on and since September 11, 2001.
