9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Seminar – Richard Falk – “Counterterrorism After 9/11: Security Imperative or Rogue Superpower?”

John Jay College’s next Friday Seminar will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at John Jay College), in Haaran Hall 630.

The speaker will be Richard Falk, one of the world’s most distinguished political scientists. His topic is “Counterterrorism After 9/11: Security Imperative or Rogue Superpower?”

Richard Falk is Albert G. Milbank Professor of International Law and Practice Emeritus at Princeton University. He is an authority in international law and is the author of more than 20 books, including Palestine’s Horizon: Toward a Just Peace, Chaos and Counterrevolution: After the Arab Spring, Path to Zero: Dialogues on Nuclear Dangers (with David Krieger), Achieving Human Rights.

Professor Falk was Special Rapporteur on Occupied Palestine for the UN Human Rights Council between 2008 and 2014, and served on a panel of experts appointed by the President of the UN General Assembly, 2008-2009. He has been nominated annually for the Nobel Peace Prize since 2008.
