9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Welles Remy Crowther was a 24-year-old broker at Sandler O’Neill in the South Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. He planned to quit the financial industry and join the FDNY. As “the man in the red bandanna” he saved several people and went back to save more when he was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
The Welles Remy Crowther Charitable Trust recognizes and awards academic and athletic excellence in young men and women who serve their communities through education, health, recreation and character development and supports other not-for-profit organizations that benefit young people.
