9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Richard M. Keane Foundation 5-K Walk/Run – Wethersfield, CT

The 18th Richard M. Keane Foundation 5-K Walk/Run will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 11:00am in Wethersfield, CT. The event is a family-friendly 5-K; participants are welcome to jog or walk.
Registration will be 9:30-10:30am in Hanmer School Gym. (Please be prompt as runners will not be registered after 10:45am.) The race-day registration fee is $20.00. There is a $5.00 fee for each child aged 10 and under to participate. Children with Wethersfield Elementary Schools’ running club pay a $5.00 fee or may run for free if they bring another runner with them. Or you can register online.
Register online or go to Keanefoundation.org for an application. Proceeds raised by the event will go to the Keane Foundation After-School Enrichment programs.
The route is a 5-K certified, flat-track course beginning in Standish Park near the DMV. Runners proceed along Garden Street, through beautiful Old Wethersfield, circling the Broad Street Green twice, and return back to Standish Park.

Richard “Dick” Keane travelled on business to the World Trade Center and was attending a meeting at Marsh & McLennan in Tower 1 on the morning of September 11, 2001. Dick was a devoted family man who loved children and sports, so his family started the Richard M. Keane Foundation and the 9/11 Memorial Sports Center for young people in the Wethersfield community.
