Press conference to protest proposed underfunded and temporary extension of the World Trade Center Health Program and Victim Compensation Fund
November 2, 2015 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
On Monday, November 2, 2015 at 1:30pm, 9/11 recovery workers and survivors and local politicians will meet outside 7 World to oppose the recent proposals from the Majority House Judiciary and Energy and Commerce committees that would provide an underfunded and temporary extension of the World Trade Center Health Program and Victim Compensation Fund.
Even though a broad, bipartisan majority of the House and Senate have backed a permanent extension, the new proposals only extend the programs first established by the original Zadroga act for another 5 years. The proposals also vastly underfund the programs during the 5-year extension and would force cuts to medical services and promised compensation.
