PO Thomas Gorman Memorial Blood Drive
December 1, 2016 - December 31, 2016
The annual PO Thomas Gorman Memorial Blood Drive will be held throughout the month of December at New Jersey’s Somerset Medical Center in Somerville.
The blood drive honors Port Authority Police Officer Thomas Gorman, who was killed while responding to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. PO Gorman fervently believed in the importance of giving blood. His last blood donation was on September 10, 2001.
Because his birthday was in December, Somerset Medical Center and his mother, Theresa, hold the annual blood drive to honor his memory. On Tom’s birthday this year, Tuesday, December 27, 2016, the Center will honor him with special food and giveaways for anyone donating blood that day. All donors throughout the month will be entered in a drawing to win a holiday gift basket.
To give blood in honor of Tom Gorman, please contact Somerset Medical Center Foundation at 908-685-2926 or online. Walk-ins are always welcome.
