Party to benefit Hope for the Warriors FDNY Southern Rumble

August 3, 2013 @ 7:00 pm

On August 9, 2013, four members of the FDNY – John Finnerty, Kevin McEntyre, Jason Puser and Chris Walsh – will begin a 15-day motorcycle ride across the USA to raise funds for Hope for the Warriors. The FDNY Southern Rumble riders will travel more than 5,300 miles, stop in 15  different cities, and visit patients at two military medical centers.

A fundraising party will be held at 7:00pm on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Bourbon Street Bar & Grille in Monroe.  Food,  drink specials, door prizes and live music are included in the donation price of $25.00. All monies raised during the party will benefit Hope for the Warriors, a nonprofit that helps post-9/11 wounded service members, their families, and families of those service members killed in action.

Two of the FDNY Southern Rumble riders worked at the World Trade Center site after the attacks. Chris Walsh is a former Marine who fought in Iraq.

This is the second year for this event. Last year, the  FDNY Southern Rumble riders raised more than $18,000; this year, the riders are attempting to raise $20,000.
