Panel Discussion, ‘9/11 to ISIS and Beyond: The Future of Terrorism (And What We Can Do about It)’ Washington, DC
September 8, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
The Bipartisan Policy Center will hold a panel discussion on Friday, September 8, 2017, from 9:00am until 12:00pm entitled, 9/11 to ISIS and Beyond: The Future of Terrorism (And What We Can Do about It) at the Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square.
The military defeat of the Islamic State appears imminent. But just as five years after the death of Osama bin Laden, al Qaeda remains a threat, it is far from clear that this victory over ISIS will prove any more lasting. Sixteen years after the 9/11 attacks the threat from terrorism has not diminished, and U.S. policy appears better at stopping terrorists than addressing the root causes of terrorism.
Please join former Gov. Tom Kean, former Rep. Lee Hamilton, and the Bipartisan Policy Center for a conference examining the evolution of terrorism from 9/11 to ISIS and beyond, the effectiveness of U.S. counter-terrorism strategy, and how to break the cycle in the future.
