NYC Memorial Stair Climb’s Battle of the Firehouse Bands

February 20, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

On Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Cutting Room in Manhattan, the NYC Memorial Stair Climb will host their fifth annual Battle of the Firehouse Bands as part of their fundraising night.

Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets cost $20.00 in advance or at the door. All proceeds from this event will go to A Soldier’s Journey Home and their 2019 campaign to build a home for Lance Cpl. Alex Edwards.

Last year’s winners Jake and the Mountain Men will defend their title against seven other hungry bands. Musicians from each band must be FDNY members. This year, FDNY members from L-22, L-142, L-17, L-4, L-126, D-13, L-16, E-76, E-84, L-25, L-37, and E-38 will perform.

Bands will include Jake and the Mountain Men; the Archibald Gander Band; the Aged; the Russo Brothers; Kevin’s Band; A Moment’s Worth; Metal Slug; and No Drama.

Each band will play 15-minute sets. The bands play whatever they choose – original music, covers, jams – anything goes. The audience votes. The winner receives a $1,000 prize and an encore performance.

A special guest MC will appear and there will be a 50/50 raffle and an auction.

This year’s memorial climb will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 3 World Trade Center and funds raised will support A Soldier’s Journey Home.
