National EMS Memorial Bike Ride Ceremony

May 17, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

On Friday, May 17, 2019 at approximately 4:00pm, the National EMS Memorial Bike Riders will conclude their annual ride at the Plaza at National Harbor, to begin the National EMS Weekend of Honor.

The East Coast route of the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride began last week in Boston. Riders cycled more than 500 miles in honor of EMS workers who have died in the line of duty in 2018, and other EMS personnel who have died. Riders from the Southern route joined the East Coast riders along the route and will ride to the finish together.

Each rider carries dog tags of the people he or she is riding to honor. Dog tags will be presented to family members in a ceremony at the Plaza, where pipes and drum corps and honor guards from around the country will welcome the riders to National Harbor.
