9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Michael V. Kiefer Swim Paddle Run

The Michael V. Kiefer Swim Paddle Run will be held at National Boulevard Beach in Long Beach, NY on Saturday, August 21, 2021 beginning at 8:45am.
The event is a salute to FDNY Firefighter Michael Vernon Kiefer, a Long Beach lifeguard who was killed while responding to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
The event starts with a 150-yard run to the swim entry point, continues with a 400-yard ocean swim, with a land finish to the transition area, then a quarter-mile paddle board segment with a land finish to the transition point, and a one and a half-mile run on the beach. (Distances are approximate.)
Boards will be supplied.
The race will proceed rain or shine.
Teams need to be a minimum of two participants; three preferred.
