9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. A Memorial Day flag raising and memorial service will be held at 7:45am on Monday, May 27, 2019 at the 9/11 Commander Dan Shanower Memorial along the Riverwalk behind City Hall.
Naval Commander Shanower, a Naperville native, was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11 while on duty at the Pentagon.
