John G. Chipura Memorial Blood Drive
March 7, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
The annual John G. Chipura Memorial Blood Drive will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 9:00am until 3:00pm at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Tottenville.
Because John was a Marine, and because this year marks the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima, in which 7,000 Marines were killed, John would especially want this year’s blood drive to save others battling for survival.
To make an appointment, please visit donate.NYBC.org, making sure you match the qualifications to donate. Please bring ID and eat a meal before donating blood.
FDNY Firefighter John G. Chipura served New York City as an NYPD officer and served his country as a US Marine before joining the FDNY. He survived the 1983 Beirut terrorist attack on Marine barracks, but was killed in the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001.
