9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Jimmy Straine Invitational

The 16th annual Jimmy Straine Invitational will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the New Jersey National Golf Club. Play will be in scramble format.

All funds raised benefit the James J. Straine Memorial Scholarship awarded to a graduating senior from Jimmy’s alma mater, Watchung Hills Regional High School. This year, the fund will again make a donation to Stephy’s Place, a support center for grief and loss in Red Bank, NJ. Stephy’s Place was founded by Sheila Martello, whose husband, James Martello, was also killed in the 9/11 attacks.
The day’s schedule will be as follows: 11:30am – registration and lunch on the terrace; 12:45pm – all golfers to carts; 1:00pm – shotgun start for scramble format. The cocktail hour/silent auction starts at 6:00pm, with dinner at 7:00pm with awards and raffle held during dinner.
James “Jimmy” Straine was 36 years old, a devoted husband and the father of a 2-year-old son and a 6-day-old son when he was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 while working at Cantor Fitzgerald Securities on the 104th floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
