9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. James H. Pirtle Walk for the Heroes, Hurley, NM

This year’s Annual James H. Pirtle Walk for the Heroes will start at the Gateway Motel in Hurley at 11:00pm on Friday, September 13, 2013. The walk continues all night, reaching Diaz Farms in Deming at approximately 2:00pm on Saturday, September 14, 2013.
The Walk for the Heroes is approximately 36.5 miles long. Roughly 100 walkers are expected.
The public is invited to attend or volunteer. Anyone wishing to participate, volunteer or donate can call Liz Lopez at 575-654-8226 or check facebook.com/WalkForTheHeroes.
The walk is named for US Army Corporal James Heath Pirtle, who gave his life for our liberties on October 4, 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
This year for the first time, the Silver City Marine Corps League, Gaffney-Oglesby Detachment 1328 has joined forces with the Walk for the Heroes.
