Information for fire personnel attending the funeral for Spring Valley Firefighter Jared Lloyd

Logistical information for those uniformed service members attending the funeral for Spring Valley Firefighter Jared Lloyd on Saturday, April 3, 2021 —
- The funeral will be held at Palisades Credit Union Park at 1 Provident Bank Park Drive Pomona, NY 10970 (next to RC FTC) Service begins at 11:00am
- Please muster at the Rockland County Health Complex- Building ‘L’ (Social Services) @ 50 Sanatorium Road, Pomona, NY 10970. Each building has visible signs on the Sanatorium Road. If the parking area at Building ‘L’ fills up, please use the parking area across the street or adjoining parking lots nearby.
- Shuttle buses/vans will be running and making stops at all muster locations.
- If any charter or school buses are bringing firefighters, they are to drive directly to the ballpark and unload passengers. They will be guided once they arrive at the ballpark.
- Charter/school buses will then go to the Minisceongo Golf Course parking lot located at 110 Pomona Road, Pomona, NY 10970. They will remain there until the funeral is complete. Please make sure that someone remains in contact with your bus driver.
- Firefighters only. Spouses, partners, friends, children or outside guests are not permitted.
- The funeral will be closed to the public at the request of the family and as far as we know, it will not be livestreamed.
- Please make every effort to limit vehicles to Chief cars and vans, etc. Organizers are trying to limit all large pieces of fire apparatus. If a department brings a fire truck, it will not be turned away.
- Personal vehicles are highly discouraged. Parking in and around the ballpark is very limited.
- The funeral will begin at 11:00am so be at your location by 10:00am the latest. There are no restrictions on how early you can arrive.
- If needed, please bring food, beverages, and garbage bags for your firefighters so these things can be taken care of prior to the funeral at your muster area.There will be food and drink available after the funeral at the ballpark.
- Under no circumstances shall anyone bring alcohol into the ballpark property.
- Seating is available for around 5,000-6,000 people. Standing room is also available and speakers will be located outside the stadium if needed.
- Masks will be required inside the stadium and on ballpark property. Every effort must be made to wear them. This needs to be enforced by your department’s officers.
- Please respect the residents of the area.
- The event will end at 5:00pm. Be prepared to leave the ballpark by that time.
- When returning home DO NOT use Route 306 heading south towards New Jersey.
Saturday’s funeral will be followed by a procession that will go down Route 45 to Route 59, up West Street to Lloyd’s Columbian Firehouse for a ceremonial “last call,” west on Maple to Route 306, then north on Route 306 to Brick Church Cemetery. The route is expected to be lined with well-wishers eager to pay their respects.
